That's funny my sister just bought a 2010 Corrolla sport and called the dealer to make sure the recalls were done on it and the lady said, "Yes we trimmed the gas pedal."

One of the instructions involving sawing part of the pedal assembly off with a hacksaw. Precision engineering at work here, folks.

No such thing as buy American anymore. No car is 100% made in USA. Parts are made all over the world then different parts are built all over the world.
BMW Z4 for example is completely assembled in the southeast of the USA...while the engine and other bits are made in germany.... does that make it a American car? NO. Don't be such a hick and be all AMERICAN when you don't know jack on how the world today really works.
Also, honda... toyota... subaru... all have most of their assembly plants in America while mostly all of GM, Ford, and Dodge have their plants in mexico or canada. So much for American huh... eh?

I believe the most "American" car made is a Toyota Camry. Built in Ky and has over 75% american parts. I am more concerned over where the money goes as Toyota employees don't make near the same as Ford, GM, or Chrysler employees.
I am surprised by the number of Toyotas still sold each month. With how many problems they have had in the past few months I would have thought people would have gone to another make. But I guess if you are looking for the most basic no frills transportation then a Toyota is the way to go. I think we can all agree that driving a modern day Toyota is as exciting as watching grass grow.

If I recall correctly a toyota employee gets a higher net. A good sized chunk of chevy's paycheck goes to pay the mob... I mean the union.

I'm on my 2nd Toyota now. I've bought american my whole life until my last chevy truck. It was a 99 and by the time i traded it in with 140,000 miles it had been through, a transfer case, a transmission, a fuel pump, a wheel bearing assembly (yup, it's a whole assembly), countless oil lines to the oil cooler and ball joints, and besides that, it rattled inside like a bucket of bolts. I never had a lick of trouble with the engine though. Anyway, my Tundra built in San Antonio is every bit american as a Chevy or Dodge made in Mexico. They're all a conglomeration anymore, but quality is high above and beyond any of my ford or chevy trucks, and I gotta say that Toyota dealerships are much more concerned with customer satisfaction than any of the big 3 ever were. I got really off topic haha

Only the H/D Dodges (now known only as RAM) are made in Mexico and isn't most of the Chevy's made in northern Indiana?

I have printed out these instructions. When I get home this evening I'm going to show them to my wife, ask for the keys to her Camry, and with an evil grin, grab my hacksaw and head out the door. The resulting drama should be highly entertaining, if I survive.
