I agree...and on another note of it's performance..

I recently watched a video Chevy made of the new Z28 coming out..

They ran track run against a Boss 302 mustang and it was supposedly 4 seconds faster on a long track...

Lets put 2+2 together here...

So you put a 427 c.i. against a 302 c.i. and proud it was just 4 seconds faster?....otay panky!!

Let's see the z28 against the gt500 that would be a better comparison.

At VIR for the Car and Driver Lightning Lap the Camaro SS with L1E package beat the Boss 302 by 1.3 seconds and the Shelby beat the SS by 0.9 seconds.

All are ridiculously fast around the track.

Especially if you're already pushing the car as hard as it can go.

That would never happen..especialy since the GT500 is in the same exact price range as the ZL1...but yet..the little 5.8 (351ci) still smokes the 7.0's ***(427)..

2014 ZL1 price...http://www.chevrolet.com/camaro-zl1-sports-car.html

2014 GT500 price...http://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/trim/shelbygt500/

The new Z28's will be a higher price than the ZL1's too...coming straight from a GM engineer's mouth at the SEMA show...go to the bottom of the article.."will be the most expensive camaro"

http://www.caranddriver.com/news/201...-unveiled-news

I am very unbias when it comes to chevy, mopar or GM..but i laugh at some of the supposed"comparisons" chevy regularly makes against others..i think it makes them look dumb as hell.....

Who was pushing the Boss 302 as hard as it can go?..the guy hired by GM to do the video for GM's advantage?....

The REAL test would be GM and Ford both bring the cars "as is" with no aftermarket or lil unknown mods and bring their own drivers...then lets see the REAL difference in times....jus sayin...

Any car company making a video like that for their benefit is NOT going to put the best driver in their competition's car..and thats a fact jack..lol

Note the second paragraph of the article.."The new Z/28 packs a 500-hp, 7.0-liter dry-sump LS7 V-8"

The LS7 is a 427 c.i.

This is the engine in the Z28 they compared the track run to a Boss 302

No.

Small blocks are usually superior in a track setting with their lighter weight and higher revving ability. Big block torque tends to overpower the small tires required to run road surface tracks.

Technically it's still a small block. That LS7 is made for racing.

Yes and it has 125-150 more hp then the 5.0l
I say add more power to the boss and so the hp is equal then race them again

The LS7 is an aluminum small block based souley on the Gen. IV small block

The LS7 has 505 HP @ 6200 RPM's..redline at 7000 RPM's....high revving ability?..i'd say so....
475 Ft Lbs of torque @ 4800 RPM's

Torque is a BIG advantage in the track..mainly when coming out of a slower corner and needing that torque to pull it quickly up to speed...

There is several things that people have been complaining about in the comparison track run they did being called totaly bull..for the fact of the bigger cubic inch displacement..the carbon fiber brake system and some suspension mods that would not be allowed to run in the track class the Boss 302 is designed and built to run...
And these complaints are even coming from the die hard Chevy fans too that are at least honest in opinions and facts..

They have also failed to mention the HUGE price difference between the Z28 and the Boss 302..again..it would of been a fair match if they would run against a GT500 which is would be in the same class and price vehicle...
