1986 C-10... Is this a good deal?

1986 Chevrolet Silverado
Anyone had any experience with this truck? Reliability? Quality? Is this a good deal? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

"Has sat for 15 years." Define sat.

I talked to the guy earlier. He said it was on his uncles farm and all it needed to get running right was an alternator. Apparently even the a/c still works. The only rust on it is a little on the top of the bed where a tool box sat. (benefits of spending its whole life in the south) It can't have sat outside for 15 years or the paint would have to be terrible right? The guy said that the paint was factory and almost perfect.

It's a nice truck. I'm partial to that body style Chevy. The 305 is a pretty reliable engine. I'd prefer the 350, but that can always be added later. What tranny does it have? Those came with either the 400 (no overdrive) or the 700 (overdrive).

If it was for me, I'd pass because it's a long bed. I like the short bed version better. But to each his own. It's still a good deal, as the ones I've seen in my area in worse shape than that are fetching over $6,000.

Good luck
