Are they worth it ?

I can see a benefit to having a rapid get away if a bear or something attacks you.

They say it provides extra storage which might be nice.

It would not work too well in most SP conventional tent sights that have an asphalt drive to park on.

Probably great for off road primitive camping use.

I guess there is nothing special about it unless it blocks the wind or something . I don't understand the extra storage theory . Isn't the extra storage the same storage inside the Jeep ?

They callit a "Hatch tent" and it provides an arrangement like a duplex-

You can have a full party arrangement in the tent, with tables/chairs/heaters and then sleep in the jeep, (quickly) closing the tailgate for security-

You can just unhook from the jeep and drive away, sealing the tent into a stand alone tent-

Mine is a 10'x10'x9'-I got for my '06 Nissan Xterra and it was a total vacation getaway-

I've modified it slightly to fit the same way on the jeep, but no pics-

They alow immediate security from bears/drunks/rangers/squirrels/Bigfeet !!

Well worth the money

I got an actual Jeep tent that connects to the rear of the jeep. When my parents bought me a Jeep Liberty back in 05 when i was in high school the dealership were giving them away when you purchased a new Jeep. I haven't tried it on my Wrangler yet but I liked it both times I used it to go camping in. ITS HUGE by the way. Says Jeep on the sides of the tent and on the duffle bag.

Napier Sportz Tent 84000

Pictures from this weekend at Silver City, Idaho. Got really cold. Was nice to sleep in the back of the Jeep. Same makers of the Mopar tent but this is a newer version.

This tent connects to my Jeep plus the trailer has a Jeep tail gate so does that count?
