I just started longboarding last year while at school. I'm 19. I have a custom board that my roommate made out of a blank in highschool. Since moving back home I haven't boarded because I live in farm town Kansas so there is nowhere to go, but I love boarding whenever I get the chance

I went to school in Springfield, MO which is an hour and half away and that's the closest place I have to skate sadly. I've skated in KC but it's almost 3 hours away.

Ha ha, bored and cruising around the forum I found this thread. I am old and fat an love to longboard. My buddy and I love to throw some boards in the back of the jeep on a nice summers nigh and cruise around with the top off hitting some hills and cruising the beach in the jeep and on the boards. Here is short video of some mild longboard action that I put together.

That's sweet. I grew up in Santa Cruz skating and surfing. I live in Seattle now so no surfing but I have managed to stick with the skating. No more half pipes are parks at my age and build, but I love to cruise, and with my size I kick *** down hilling. I have a 4 year old girl. as soon as she shows interest I hope to teach her to ride. And yes, I get some looks, especially tucked in and doing 30 down some seattle hills! Its also fun having the boards sticking out of the open topped jeep. Just feels fun and keeps me feeling young. Only bummer is when I fall I hurt a lot longer. The little fall at the end of the video had me hurting for days.
