Mossberg ATR 100, need a scope

I got this rifle for my boy, in .243, for his 12th bday. It has a stock that you can add to so it will grow with him. It came down to this Mossberg or a Savage Axis. The Mossberg had a much better trigger and I licked the stock option (being extendable).

Now I need to find a scope. This for a soon to be 12 year old. I don’t need a high end scope. I want to find a lesser expensive scope that is still a good value, anybody have any recommendations.

Nikon Prostaff, Redfield, Vortex. I have a Prostaff 3-9x40 that I was thinking about getting rid of to upgrade to something else...LMK if you're interested.

Sightron SII 3-9x42 would work well with that rifle.

I bought a Bass Pro Shop house version, Pursuit, 1/2 off for 40 bucks plus 30 bucks for the mounts. It's a 3-9X50. Looked good enough.

I put a bushnell banner on my boys 243. Its clear as a bell and hasnt came out of adjustment after almost 8 years of service and hundreds of rounds. Its a good bang for the buck if you ask me, my first choice is always a Nikon though
