I did drill 4 holes, sealed with silicone and no leaks. Very stable and will carry my M1A.

State and local municipality laws apply and varry greatly from one place to the next. So to answer your question ..........yes and no.

Concealed (loaded) handguns are legal in a vechicle here.
Rifles are legal in a vechicle here but if you have a rouind in the chamber you are in trouble due to wildlife poaching laws. Loaded magizine but nothing in the chamber and you are good to go. Your local laws may varry considerably.

That being said any rifle is in its own case when being transported in my jeep.

Transportation of Firearms

If an individual is not hunting, loaded firearms may be carried in a vehicle. During hunting, all firearms must be entirely unloaded before being placed in the vehicle (not after!). Handguns must not be concealed on a person in a vehicle unless that person holds a CCW permit issued in Nevada. Handguns must not be concealed on or by a person's body unless that person holds a CCW permit issued in Nevada. This is true while driving, also.
I love Nevada
