Well, I took the boy out hunting today. He missed about 20 pigs from about 50 yards away right off the bat. got in 3 shots before they topped a hill and were out of sight.
About an hour later came across another bunch. This time he air one out from about 75 yards. ended up weighing 160 pounds. I'll post some picts soon as they get developed.

My uncle's friend just shot one with a crossbow the other day. The bolt went clean through the hog, and stuck itself into a tree behind the pig.

I gone once a week for the past month and a half. I will me going tomorrow, and Sunday.
Trying to get in shape as it is now dog season  Looked at a couple more dogs last night hoping to build the pack.

can't find any info on hog hunting in colorado. Anybody know where I could go? Heard Sugar City has some, but DOW doesn't have any info

where did you get that one?
i havent been in years. i used to go to paso robles, and hunter liggett to hunt hogs.

We got it in san benito county. I have 2 teenage sons that I am getting started hunting with dogs.

I will keep that in mind. we shoudl be out of commision for a couple weeks as 3 of the dogs got some minor pokes from the tusks.
he doesn't look too big, about 130-140 pounds, but that boar was full of fight.

had not posted in while here is some more hogs we took this year. Dogs were used during the hunt.
Taken with a 44 mag pistol, decent sized sow.
Taken with a 44 Mag pistol, nice boar.
Taken with a 44 Mag winchester rifle, My sons first hog with dogs in a brush. He was by himself at the time of kill.
