I am kind of partial to 20's but only because I frequent areas inhabited by a listed species that has a nasty disposition and still believes it is at the top of the food chain-but then I usually carry the Smith 29.

neither. I was in the same dilemma. Check out Springfields, hold one, shoot one if you can. I bought a Springfield XD40 sub compact as an alternative to a Glock. A great size to carry on a daily basis. I can field strip my XD in half the time it takes to do a Glock, A LOT less moving parts internally, functionality and reliability are top notch. I LOVED my .40 so much, 2 weeks later I went back and bought an XD 9 service size for some inexpensive range shooting. I am quite the firearms collector and this was my first poly. In comparison to all that I own, I wouldn't trade my XDs for ANYTHING! BUT, It's your purchase, and ultimately your decision, just my .02.

Happy Shooting!

-however I was recently taked into selling every firearm I own to the infamous Carl, sorry Obama, I dont have anything anymore

The service model is the middle one, sub compact is on the bottom.

- These images came from a random google images search, not from me.

I'm very partial to CZ's poly type. Mostly because Matt Mink is my co-worker.

I would say an XD is WAY easier to take care of IMHO.

x2 and I believe that they are now offering a thumb safety on some models. Its been a while since I have looked at the sight, but I know they were putting them on the 45 service models and were to start doing it on the 40 and 9. They may have spread that down the line to the sub compacts now as well.

Both the Glock and the XD are great guns. I prefer the Glock because it just feels better in my hands. As far as taking it apart, very rarely do you have to field strip a gun so this really shouldn't be a consideration IMHO. When you clean it you should be taking your time anyways. I'm partial to the Glock 19 or the Glock 23, the only difference being the caliber. Which caliber is best for you really depends on your intended use. The 9mm is cheaper to shoot, but also lacks the punch that the .40 has...however with current ballistics technology I wouldn't hesitate to use either as a protection piece. The best advice I can give you is to go and hold a lot of guns, see what feels right and points nice for you and then get that one! There's no point in buying a gun if it's not comfortable for you to shoot it.

Went with my son to buy a Glock. The counter guy, said 'here hold this one' a XD. Wow, it just felt better in the hand than the Glock. Really like the squeeze safety. Both my son and I have smaller hands. Ended up with 3. One son a 45, the other got the 40 and I picked up the 9. Year later, we're all still very satisfied.
