Well the weights combined are 5lbs and its just about the same as the fish, maybe a little lighter than the fish.
But enough about the weight, ****er was nice.
But the ugly spin reel I have sucks balls.
Its all rusty and not smooth at all. It stripped a little bit reeling that fish in. My friend needs to get MY damn pole with my nearly brand new reel on it.

Got a new reel today. Its a Penn fierce 2000 or 3000, forget which one. 6.2:1 ratio, real smooth and not too heavy. Can't wait to get out and use it.

Nice catch man, farm ponds always make me think of grandparents ponds, hard to beat a good pond

I used to back in VA, Lake Gaston was always good to me. Caught a few 25+lbs channels there. Nothing quite as monsterous as yours but they were fat. If that's an ECU shirt I see I know those cats are fed well down there.

I catch nothing compared to that here. They're little baby catfish compared to those. About 14-15" long is the biggest I've caught recently. Caught a little brim and cut it up and used that for bait.
