Yes, it is very effective if done properly. Location is the biggest issue when hunting from a ground blind with a bow. You have to get close enough to where the deer will be to have a shot at ground level, versus being in a tree with an elevated view and more shot choices.

the biggest thing i learned in my bow hunting experiences out of a blind is that the deer will see you ALOT sooner than they will in a stand. My most effective way was too set up on a ridge, or a hillside looking down at a food source, draw, or stream/river bottom. that way they are usually going by you without seeing you and its an easier shot downhill too

Set the blind up in advance so the deer can get used to seeing it, Scent the area with a generic deer scent, not the one deer one bottle stuff, use the cheap stuff from multiple deer to give more of a herd scent to make your deer more comfortable when in the area, dont set your blind in the wide open, try to hide it, wear black not to be silhouetted when the deer look in to a dark blind and most of all don't hunt that stand if the wind isn't in your face.

Practice shooting in a sitting position. Lotsa people thing your form will be the same, but it isn't. Also, adjust your sights.

I don't know who makes them, but I have seen some bas A$$ blinds that were mirrored. So the reflection of your surroundings become your camoflauge. I can't remember the name of them but they look like the best blind I have ever seen.

So what happens when the sun light is reflected? I would think that it would spook them.
