Yankee Boy Basin in Ouray, CO

Day trip to Yankee Boy Basin yesterday. Definitely not an "easy" trail but really fun. Did not touch the skids once on the way up but added a few stripes and scars to the skids on the way down.

Only came down on one rock a bit too hard on a bad line chosen by me. That factory engine skid is not very strong. I bent it back and good to go again.

Anybody looking to go all the way up this trail needs skids and tires in good condition. Lots of sharp rocks, loose rocks and off camber hairpins.

I wouldn't run most any trail in CO w/o skids and good tires........

We just got back from a trip out that way......Keystone area.

I love Colorado!

I'm surprised at what it does, I mainly run the trails in rampart range area and up old stage road in the springs.

We did Yankee and Governor, after Imogene. Governor has been smoothed out, Yankee was more "difficult".

How was Imogene? We ran out of time to run it.

Thought Old Stage was still closed, or is the rumor of it being open on weekends true?
