Well, due to frequent visits to this forum I couldn't resist lifting my WK anymore. It's my first Jeep and I'm loving it so far. Only had it since March.
I finished installing the OME MD last night and got the new shoes on today. An interesting note, to me at least, was that the OME MD gave me 2.5" up front but only 1.5" in the back (not including gain from tires). It still looks awesome though and the handling is so much nicer! Details in the sig.
The first picture is at the top of Tincup Pass near St. Elmo, CO. The other pictures were taken in and around Ouray, CO. That picture going down "the steps" on Black Bear Road had to be one of the most scary/awesome things I've ever done. Butt-pucker central ... that's a 3,000 foot drop off into Telluride!
Very cool! Black Bear is on my list - for sure - the WK did well I presume.
Edit: Actually, Ouray, Silverton, Lake City - the Alpine Loop - I gotta do that.
Alpine Loop is a BLAST! It leads you to this area right in between Ouray and Lake City where you can catch up with tons of the trails along with Animas Forks ghost town. Black Bear Road really isn't as challenging as some of the other passes, it just has about 10% of it being the scariest moments of your life. The WK did incredible. I was the only WK out there and one of only 2 or 3 Grand Cherokees I saw the whole weekend. I must have spoken to at least 4 or 5 Wrangler owners who all wanted to chime in on how they never knew and couldn't believe how capable the WK was.
If I was to suggest one trail in particular it would be Imogene Pass. Unbelieveably beautiful as you come into Telluride.
