I'm in the process of upgrading my stereo as well. I recently purchased (4) 6 3/4 Rockford Fosgate speakers. I have two Rockford Fosgate P2's from my old vehicle. I'm going to keep the stock head unit because it has navigation. The car audio place I'm taking it to said that everything would work. Can't wait to hear how it sounds.
I think i paid like $900 for that radio and Pioneer had a rebate of $100 at the time...so like $800.
Oh, and im running stock speakers in the rear doors, but keep them off most of the time, and you cant tell they arent even playing since the front can play so loud and clear. If there are pasengers inthe rear, then you jsut fade a little bit to the rear to give them some sound
What kind of wiring did u use did it come with a plug and play kit
On her first install, i didnt use a wiring harness, the only wire thats tough to find is the ACC wire since these trucks use a CanBus.
On this particualr install i used a Metra wiring harness so that i could have the ACC wire right there, as well as the back up wire and other useful Nav wires that are needed. Is it nessecary to have a wiring harness? no..but it does make the job easier.
