WK Paint problem

Hi, I have a 2006 WK in which the paint has started etching away down to the base coat. Has anyone had or heard of this problem? I would appreciate any input.

Strange, but can happen to any vehicle depending on where you live, if it was ever washed of road chemicals, salt etc etc. Just started by probably eating the clear coat off and then after that there's no stopping it unless you get it re sprayed and some new clear coat on

Yes, Jeep did have a "checking" problem with certain colors. It looks like a million razor cuts in the clear coat. The thought is that the colored base coat wasn't cured properly which along with UV rays causes the clear coat to check. There is no "fix". The repair is to remove all the paint and start over. I had my '07 walnut shell blasted, re primed, painted then clear coated. BTW, with zero help from Chrysler.
