WK - Differential Fluid Change
I was informed by the stealership that the Differential Fluids need to be changed every 24,000 km to keep warranty. Talking to another mechanic, he said that seems kinda often (he suggested every 100,000kms)
Regardless, while it is under warranty, I should do it. Anyone done their own, and know how easy it is and what fluid it takes and how much of it.
Mine is the 2007 WK CRD (3.0)

No worries.
With QDII dont forget to add the limited slip additive. It shows it over on wkjeeps.

Yeah, definitely stick with the schedule and as robpp mentioned above, absolutely make sure the friction modifier is added in the process.
I've had places assure me they have the right stuff for the diffs only to stare blankly when I mention the friction modifier.

That friction modifier goes only in the rear end right?

Go back and check the link. It shows for both.
If you have the QDII, you have ELSD in both front and back.

Agreed front and rear on the QDII
If it's not added, you'll soon notice. You'll start getting some grinding and binding in tight turns.

Has anyone tried Mobil One Synthetic gear oil without adding additional friction modifier (since it's supposed to be designed in part for limited slip applications)?

I still have some binding/shuddering in my front diff after a fluid change on my 05 with QD11. Would it do any good/harm to add more friction modifier to the front diff?

Where did you have it changed?
If it was right after a fluid change that you started having problems I would probably just have it changed again. Either bring the friction modifier from the dealership with you to what ever shop you'll be at, change all the fluid yourself, or have the dealer do it.

It was done at a 5 star dealer. I made sure they used 75-140 Mopar and I saw the 2 little bottles of friction modifier on the bench.
I had shuddering before the fluid change and it was only slightly better after the fluid change. This is why I am thinking adding some more friction modifier might help but I am not sure. Can too much cause damage?

Sorry, can't help you there. I image too much would render the ELSDs inoperable, so it would be like running open diffs. Dunno though, just a guess on my part.
