wireless ignition node LOCKOUT! HELPPP!

Hello everyone,

My jeep (GC 2008) came with only one key (fob).

After i get a new key i went to the dealer to program it - here is the problem:

for programming the new key using the scan-tool we need the PIN number

(like 1234), so the dealer used the wrong PIN number for 3 times (using the

scan-tool) and then we get this message on the scan-tool: "the WIN has

exceeded the total number of false PIN attempts and has entered the anti

scan lockout mode", so now its locked and we cannot enter the correct PIN

because of it!

Does someone know how to reset this anti scan mode (cancel it) ???

How should this be your problem? You went to the dealer and this is now their problem. If they can't figure this out quickly, they should provide you with a loaner until they do.

It must be frustrating but they should have the resources to solve this problem.

Good luck.

Hi
You will probably need a new WIN module but like above not your problem.

You can do one of two things.

1. Leave your ignition key in run for one hour, this resets the lockout counter.

2. Find the memory address and someone who has a Chrysler Diagnostic Tool engineering version (CDAe) and have them overwrite the lockout counter.

People with CDAe can also read the PIN out by knowing the memory address. This only works on Continental/Siemens VDO WINs which the 2008+ WK/XK's use.
