What should be done at 100,000miles

So my sisters 05 WK 2wd is at 100k and she has no idea what the service history is of it, she doesnt pay attention when she takes it in. She says she doesnt remember anything being done besides oil changes. I she should be coming to visit next month and I want to take care of the service for her.

What should I look at doing?

What fluids should I change? I am sure the airfilter is long past due to be changed. I know the brakes are fine, she just had them replaced.

Also, every know and then the WK goes into limp mode and the check engine light comes on. If she turns the car off for about 10 min and restarts it, it clears. Any ideas?

Was the 90k service done? If not- I'd change your spark plugs, all drivetrain fluids (diffs, tcase, tranny), flush your coolant, maybe do your power steering fluid and check your belt.

Here is a great link for maintenance items....

http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_maintenance.htm

I would do everything and prepare to spend some money.....but in the long run it will be cheaper than buying a new car or making car payments.

Quick list of things needing done...

Coolant system...replace anti-freeze

Transmission service, filter and fluid

Rear diff needs to be changed

oil and filter

air filter

serpentine drive belt

spark plugs

All of this you could do yourself to save money.

Should the belt be replaced every 100k miles? Or just need to have them checked at every 3k miles oil change?

No need to replace the belt on a set schedule. Inspect it regularly (at every oil change works fine) and change it when it's worn.

Or at least get the belt to keep for a replacement in a pinch. Or install the new one and keep the old one for a spare.

If you have a dealer install the new belt remind them upfront you want the old belt....they will cut the old one off.

Personally .. I would go look what the engine error code is. That would be the priority.
Get HER records and see what she has done.

Inspect and change "if needed"... not just change things.

That doesn't surprise me but it's more work to cut if off because you still have to loosen the tensioner accessory to get the new one on and tight.

I did all fluids including both diffs, TC, and transmission along with spark plugs. Also got a new battery since the it was on the original and tested weak.
