What New 2008 WK?

My lease on my 2006 WK V6 is almost up. So I wanted to know from you guy what I should get next. It is going to be another WK. Should we go for the 4.7 V8 or the 5.7 HEMI, or maybe stay with the V6.

I like the limiteds its just all that chrome that gets to me.

Anyways, what would you guys recommend??

i've always wanted a hemi-powered mopar, thats why i just got a 2008 limited w/ the hemi option.....i only have 450 miles on it so i am not the best person to ask but i am already seeing this thing is overall the best grand cherokee i've ever owned.......i like the re-styled exterior and interior and the new optional wheels.

since i only drive about 7,000 miles a year the poor fuel economy isnt going to be a huge burden on me compared to the fun of owning one.

Once you go Hemi, it's tough to step down. We drove the Hemi first when test driving last December for our '07. When we drove the 4.7, it was just for three minutes and turned around / bought the Hemi. But..... with the revitalized 2008 4.7 engine, you should evaluate the difference in power and driving impression versus the Hemi.

Thanks for the information so far guys!

I also have another question. Do you think I could get better mpg out of the 4.7 V8 then the V6?? With the V6 right now I am getting 12-13.5mpg, city driving. It feels like the V6 is working too hard to move the car.

I'm getting around 15 mpg with conservative city driving on my '08 4.7L Gen II.

Our hemi is only 1-2 highway mpg less than the previous '04 Mountaineer with the V6.

I test drove the HEMI and the new 4.7L. I didn't really notice too much of a difference. I ended up getting the 4.7L. I couldn't be happier.

Thanks guys! I was looking at the price difference between a 4.7 Laredo and 5.7 Limited, and it is close to $10,000 more for a limited!

.....much of the $$$ difference between Laredo and Limited is of course not the engine but the features and options that come standard on all Limiteds .....some you cannot even get on a Laredo. both are priced correctly imo. keep in mind, if you pay one penny above dealer invoice for any jeep you have been rooked, i paid $300 below invoice, some folks have paid even less.

the new 4.7L engine is a great choice for sure...but there's something about that "Hemi" badge on the tailgate of the GC, you gotta have it.

last week i took my hemi Ltd on its first all-highway trip, only 150 miles round trip, but i did get 16 mpg going 65-70 mph. (manual calculation).

We bought new in '99 a Laredo with leather, moonroof etc that the dealer painted the gray bottom cladding white to match the rest of the Jeep, sort of a Limited look at the Laredo price. Always wished we went the extra $ for the Limited and now we did for 2007.
