Doesn't seem like much, but in my quest to eliminate some obnoxious plasti-chrome, i bedlined the insert on the lower valence. Front skid re-installed post picture. Honestly i want to chop off the lower part of the front bumper as some members have done, i just can't muster the courage haha.

Had to replace lift gate latch subassembly (...you have to replace the entire thing, not just the switch, for ~$125).

We had prolific rains here Thursday. Caused the reed switch in the latch assembly to short to ground and think tail gate was ajar. Eventually, it sent the car into "panic alarm" mode with all the bells and whistles blaring.

Have to put amplifier replacement ($300), multi-function stalk ($175), front shocks ($300), and seat repair ($200) off for another month.

Took her offroading at Bundy Hill Offroad Park.

Was a great day, everything was going good..... until this happened.

I also dented the corner of my rear bumper, but it popped itself back out. And shattered that tail light.

So im probably going to be on the market for a nice new bumper, and a taillight (or a new pair of LED tails)

Ouch dude at least the top half past the bumper didn't take too much damage which would be a good excuse to buy a ARB or Jager bumper. How'd you manage that?

damn!! But you can always look on the bright side, the rear bumper did fix itself, you get a pair of led tail lights, a new front bumper, annnnnd you didn't take your headlights out, saving those oracles

That raises an interesting question- If he had a heavy steel bumper on there, would that impact have bent the unit-body of the jeep? Right no it looks ugly on the soft parts, like a bumper cover or whole bumper, but nothing serious.

Poor grammar is something up with which I shall not put.

I was trying to avoid that mud hole that you see in the picture. IT wasn't too deep, but what you can't see in the picture is right at the beginning of that hole there is a tree that you pretty much slide right into your side panel. My dad was about 1/2" away from hitting on his rubicon, but we were able to winch him away from the tree.

So of course I decided to go around it because I didn't want to take that chance. While I was going around the hole, my jeep slid about 2 feet right down into the hole on the right side of the jeep and I was sitting on my rear diff stuck. When my brother tried to pull me out with his winch, my jeep slid the rest of the way into the hole, and that corner of the bumper smashed on the outside edge of the hole.

The moment of impact, lol. My wife took this picture

Its just Ironic, I tried to avoid that section so I didn't get any damage, and got the most damage anyways.

I don't think that it would have been solid enough to damage the unibody, it was just a mud/dirt bank. I think a steel bumper would have just dug/pushed it up. But the plastic bumper just crushed.

Mud and snow are unpredictable as can be man. Bright side equals a new steel bumper but that still sucks since you trying to avoid it lol, atleast your reppin Jeepforum on impact.

That is very true and funny. Before I even got out of my jeep and they told me that I crunched the bumper bad, one of the first things that I asked was "Did it get my headlight or any of the fender?"

I might try to get a heat gun on the bumper to get it hot, and pop it back out today. There will be cracks and chipped paint, but I think I might be able to pop it out.

It sucks I was talking to the owner of Suaguaro4x4/Aspen Creek just last week on Instagram and she said that she is trying to bring their bumper back. I don't know If I can wait that long now though.

Here is the video of the section/tree that I was trying to avoid. The WK is wider than the JK, I still think I made the right choice. If I would have went that way, I could have layed the side of my jeep against that tree. Which would be worse than a plastic bumper.
