I finally had the cracked vinyl on the drivers side seat bolster replaced with some leather at a local upholstery shop. It came out pretty good and hopefully will last much longer than the cheap vinyl originally installed with the leather seat option. The color appears a little off but it is because it is still so clean. It should blend in nicely with a little wear. Overall I am extremely happy with the new leather insert. It cost about $140 for the installation.

Just put my rocky road lift and bilsteins on, now hearing a popping noise from the right front, gotta take it apart and figure out what's loose.

Almost "hosed" my WK.

Here is the story:

Went to a two days four wheeling. I took a 4 Gallon water plastic Jerrycan in the boot.

The four wheeling was rough. At the end of the first day the Jerrycan was bent at the bottom.

during the second day I used half of the water, when I got home I was astonished to find out that the Jerrycan was empty. I looked at it and found that it was cracked, it happened while it was in the trunk water traveled all over the carpet. Most ended to the driver's carpet

Waiting for my WK to dry out... Next Jerrycan will be made out of steel.

My front drivers side suspension felt loose so I went in to tighten the bolts. The one bolt attaching the strut plate to the strut had a 5/16" gap I tightened it down all the way while the weight of the jeep was on it and the loose feeling is completely gone I also determined that my windshield is the one thats leaking and I'm taking it to a glass place to have it reset wednesday. I also realized that my door panel was missing a screw which was probably causing it to squeek so I took the screw from the pax side hoping that it will fix the squeek. If it does I'll get one to put back in the pax side door. Overall it was a good maintenance day for the jeep

Checked the torque on my 1.5" spacers f/r. Installed the other day so I rechecked as per the instructions - they're good to go. While I had the wheels off the other day and today I shot all the bolts that will be coming out for my OME install with pb blaster. The nut on the lower fork/LCA and the bolt on the strut clevis look like they might give me hell - hope not.
By the way - anybody know the size of that LCA nut?

Oh - I also popped my Chiefs window flag on today. They finally gave us something to be excited about

rashid11 -
Looks like you had a busy day yesterday. You probably covered at least $1K in maintenance - nice!

I'm not sure about the LCA nut but make sure you have an 18mm socket. We had a metric impact wrench set but it didn't include an 18mm. We had to go chase one down before we could finish disassembly.

Went to the annual Northwood University auto show. Looked at 2012 JK Sahara Unlimited and 2012 WK2 SRT8 (as well as lots of other neat cars, like the Chrysler Firepower).

Once the '08 WK HEMI saw that, it ran fine all rhe way home. Must have forgot later, because it threw 2 DTC's related to the front O2 sensors. This ***** never ends............

Took the wk through a touchless car wash today hoping it would get all of the mud off. The underbody flush didn't do anything, so I went to a do it yourself bay and payed for 2 8 minute washes. First one was dedicated to spraying wheel wells and underbody with the pressure rinse. Second one was actually washing. Vacuumed and wiped down the interior, rain-x'd the windshield, and attempted to remove the pinstripe (only to find out it was painted on). Also took off the front air dam, don't know if I like it yet seeing as I already feel like the front is a little higher than the rear, but we'll see.

Only had to get underneath and wiggle the starter wire once today. Picked up some dielectric grease, just need to figure out how to replace the connection. (Can't find a thread that is actually a how-to, just everyone saying to do it.)
