I went to get my oil changed today. I heard the guy under the Jeep yell waterpump leak. So he comes out tells me they won't change my oil and that I need to get my water pump replaced or fixed before they will touch it. Bummer

The mechanic said it looks like it just started today he felt a drip while trying to unscrew my oil filter doesn't seem like that big of a deal but I understand company policy going to try and take it somewhere else before the end of the week

So I got bad news from the dealer...

Firstly, my power steering wasn't working properly so I had them diagnose it. Apparently these was green liquid in the lines, and the pump is no good. $600 total repair there..
Second, my motor went in my transfer case. Before when I did the recall, I was able to enable 4Low but after when I got them to flash it, and I got the 'Service 4Wheel Drive' , apparently the motor is toast. $900 part right there
THIRDLY, Transmissions cooling lines are leaking... and now I got to replace them. About a $500 total repair there...

sigh.

In my experience, the dealerships like to replace instead of repair. I suggest getting a second opinion, dealerships don't seem competent enough to diagnose a problem completely and repairing it, so they instead replace everything until the problem is solved = big money cost!!!

Yea I will bring it to another place. I will get the dealer to do the power steering fix, but I will try the TC and Tranny lines somewhere else

If you got the "service 4wd system" message after the recall was done, then your not responsible for the motor or "actuator" to be fixed. They have to fix it as part of the recall for FREE! $900?! Really?! F them!!!! You can replace the TC Actuator yourself in less than an hour lol Also it does not cost $600 to replace the power steering pump. It's a $50 part that can also be done in less than hour by yourself. The dealer will try to steal every last cent you have dude. Unless of course money means nothing to you

The TC motor should only be about $400 + $200 in labor
