No need to access the drivers side. Once you remove the black plastic shroud that covers the heater core the only thing holding it in are the supply and discharge lines. Remove the one screw that attaches them to the heater core ( i didn't drain the coolant out but used a good trash bag to catch the little that was in the lines and core itself about 2-3 cups) and then the core just slides out. The hardest part was drilling the holes in the spot welds on the frame.

Sounds easy enough. I've already drained my core when I bypassed it when I installed the new radiator. Sucked it out with a pump.

I purchased a 2005 WK Limited Hemi today. Looking forward to it. I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now deciding on whether to get one or not. I shall be updating with mods shortly. Looking forward to being part of the community!

Got it back from the stealership. Originally went to have an oil change but last weekend it overheated a little bit. Went over to pep boys to have them do a quick check and their comments were "we're gonna have to do an engine tear down". Yeah.. no thanks. Turned out to be a thermostat. Around $220 with military discount.

Everyone has turned greedy nowadays. Hard to find a good honest mechanic. Glad you got her fixed.

The thing I like about those wheels is that you really don't see them on too many WK's. Bad thing is they are 18's, so fewer/more expensive tire options.

what do you guys think?
those are some sharp looking wheels - I'd pay the extra and ride on the 18's

Updated the Superchip via their "Spark" software.

Put the 87 octane tune to the WK.

Swapped the tow hitch out with the d-ring shackle.

Back in dd mode.

Yeah, well, I do like cruising around in the XJ quite a bit but it's out of service right now.

BTW - I got my eyes out for a lifted white WK.

Thermostat is an easy swap. Could have saved yourself $200 by DIY

Yeah i was going to but i wanted it to be their mistake if something goes wrong. I easily could have done it, but with pep boys saying they recommend (which i disregarded most of the stuff they were saying since they said it might be due to me keeping it in 4wd -- i dont really have an option) tearing the engine down, i was a little worried i might think i solved something but it was actually internal.
