I scored some gear. Feast your eyes...

Since this is the "What did you do to your WK today?" thread, I will start with the most directly related thing: I got a roof rack for it. It originally came off a 4 Runner so I will need to make some adjustments to it to make it fit my crossbars. First on the list is to remove the rails that came on the bottom of the basket so I can U bolt it directly to my crossbars. Second on the list will be to either coat it with bedliner or some Rustoleum matte black.

Test fitting to see where things land.

(Yes I know it's off center. )

I also scored some other gear.

A $450 TENT!!

USMC sea bags anyone?

2D Maglite

Let's have a picnic!

Heatsurge propane infrared tabletop BBQ

Total cost for everything: $20.

Everything except the roofrack, tents and a fishing pole not shown were pulled from storage units at work. People abandon them and sometimes I get to rummage through and see if there's anything I want to keep when we empty them out and throw stuff away.

The roofrack, tents and a fishing pole / camping pots and pans were $20 from craigslist today. Now all we need are some pads or an air mattress. So excited about the finds.

I had to break off a lug as it was frozen, the wheel lock remover at the tire store only managed to break the nut off just about flush with the rim the tapered seat remained. after going at it with a air chisel I managed to get the tire at least lose. Then used a 3/4" hole saw to cut away most of the taper finally had to use a 6' pry bar to pry the wheel off from behind. Cut the stud off with a grinder & drove the stud out will be getting 20 new solid lug nuts this week all of this from the stupid 2 piece design Jeep used causing one to round over. & my rim is damaged now around the lug hole.

Doused myself with transmission fluid... :-) Yes, when changing the transmission fluid & filters, the pan let go on the opposite side from what I expected. Missed much of my drain pan / cardboard / etc that I put down to protect the cement. Oh well. Was glad to get ride of the filters as the spin-on was dated 2007 and the other filter had clearly seen better days.

Just scored NTM 2006 Grand Cherokee and took her up to 11,000ft and did some fly fishing on Ivanhoe Resevoir, CO. Looking forward to getting in the back country and loving the upgrade from an 05 Jeep Liberty to this GC with a 4.7 V8!

did a little fab... After my lift I took off the lower front valance and liked it, but it left some components rather... exposed. So rock guard... cardboard template, 1/8" 5052 AL, skill saw, hole saw, press brake and during the long weekend ill bed line it and grab some flat head socket bolts, countersink the mounting holes and leave nothing hanging down. I drew it up and have the DWG/DXF if anyone is interested.
