The Upper Radiator Crossmember that the hood latch is actually bolted to I think is fine. I'm not going to do much with it. The Underbody Crossmember is the piece behind the bumper and is bent. The Fascia Bracket (the plastic crush piece) is also toast. But Amazon has some really good prices on these pieces, like less than $150 for both.If you do need to paint or replace parts, consider spending that money on an aftermarket bumper.
That seems like way too much oil for only 20 seconds. Before declaring it isn't working I would investigate a little more.20 seconds over the exit port...
Brilliant! Thinking a grommet might finish it off and would also seal the hole for owners that flip the cover over to use the package tray.I drilled a hole in my load-floor lid to be able to access my spare tire winch without having to unload my tools and equipment. I carry a lot of stuff in the back of my WK and have been thinking about this for a while. This means I need to carry my jack and handles in the rear and not stowed away, but this is a minor inconvenience compared to having to pull everything out of the back of the Jeep to access them and to lower the tire, if I have to put on my spare.
I was about 1/8" shy of being centered on the winch point but I'm able to easily attach the winch shaft, and that's good enough for me.
What is the plastic tank from? being in On, Canada i have been worried about when it will start leaking, i was not aware of a plastic tank option.Today I finished swapping my fuel tank to a plastic one, I held out for a later one to get the extra 0.5 gal/2L of capacity. The skid plate was in decent shape but I can see what people meant by the rear corner needing a drain hole so I added one and bored out the other drain holes with the step bit. I think the mud packed onto the skid plate weighed more than the plate itself. Reading all the threads on here helped a lot, the one catch was that you need a piece of 5/16" ID fuel hose for the vent, not 5/8" like one thread on here says. And if you're ordering new parts despite there being a listing for one there is no in-tank filter sock so don't bother ordering it.
Other than that it's pretty easy, there was maybe 0.5L of diesel in the tank that I couldn't pump out after I rinsed it, then I added about 20L from a jerry can and then went right to the gas station and pumped in 59L for a total capacity right around 80L. Being the only time the tank will be truly filled from empty it was interesting to see that with ~20L in it the fuel gauge read 1/8 of a tank so it's way off.
