EDIT: pictures worth 1000 words right
I set mine up similar but a bit different. I end my string right above he passenger rear door and run and extension cord from the roof down under the weather seal and then under the passenger seat. I hide my inverter under the passenger seat and plug my inverter into the outlet in the front. That way when I want to turn them on/off I can either reach under the front seat, or just leave the switch on and plug/unplug it.

Sorry, I'm too lazy to do pics, but I had a Prodigy P3 controller mounted to the top left corner of the glove box. The P3 has a very big mounting bracket, so that the unit sits at a nice 30 degree up angle out past the center console. On the P3 the emergency trailer brake lever is underneath and pulls towards the driver, making no-look emergency hill braking very easy.

Highly recommended.

Try to get soft bulbed ones. These scratched up my roof paint bad. They def get the attention of people I'm the only one around here so far with them.
