Noticed my outside temp reading was stuck at 65 yesterday, and sure enough, next time I started the Jeep, the check engine light came on. Got the p0073 code which was (high?) fault on the ambient temperature sensor. Picked up a new one at Advanced Auto for $21. Easiest repair I've done so far on the Jeep. A flat head screwdriver, and 5 minutes for install, 10 minutes with the negative battery cable pulled. So far, all is well again. I did not use a mopar part. Does anyone have any experience with the aftermarket sensors from advanced? Should i expect any problems down the road? I just went with the part they had because they were 2 mins away, had it in stock, and the Jeep dealership was closed for the night (not to mention the dealer would probably charge 2-3 times that for the part).

youll be fine with that part... they say typically it wont last as long or there could be problems with being compatable... but for a temp sensor.. i dont think youll have anything to worry about, my oil pressure sensor isnt mopar and its fine for 4 months so far, now if you need a new ignition switch...... go oem

I pulled my front wheels to check my pads because of brake squeel but all 4 pads look good so I think tomorrow I am going to try to hit it with some brake cleaner and see if that helps.

brake cleaner wont stop the squeek, take off the pads and lube the corners and slide pins.

Haven't decided if I want to plasti-dip the wheels or put some truck bed liner on the roof to cover up some chipping up there and protect from other junk hitting it when I put on a roof rack.... any thoughts?

First I cut out the metal to fit the grille area with some regular wire cutters. Then primed and painted with rustoleum bedliner.

Then I drilled some holes in the plastic to fasten the grille. Used 2 inch long 1/4 bolts with washers.

replaced all my lights with what i feel are the best replacement bulbs out there, the Solux ClearVision Supreme...80% brighter and 50% whiter than stock but the same life expectancy. Unlike the silverstar ultras which are only 50% brighter and last like 6 months sometimes. Picture below has the fogs and low beams on with the stock bulbs on the right obviously:
