i just noticed on 4xguard's website under features of the belly guard it says "Provides a major deterent to theft of catalytic converter(s)."... is this a major concern? i've never heard of anyone having their cat stolen...I'm glad i have my front guard to prevent radiator theft!

It is in Illinois - a lot of WK's used to comment about that here.

We had a rash of them stolen around the Richmond, VA area a year or two ago. They were sliding under SUV's and trucks with sawzalls or hacksaws.

wow, that's crazy....why do they do it? does somebody actually buy old used cats? or is it like exhaust shops paying somebody to do it so that they get extra business installing new cats?

Yes except the SA sliders are higher up closer to the door where you want the protection to be. However I would call that loss of ground clearance since it mounts under the molding instead of replacing it.

Drove from Port Huron MI to Eau Claire wi, about 700 miles. Was pleased with how the MDS did and the avg that it provided.

Picked up a water pump, upper and lower rad hoses, and a set of sway bar bushings today. I finally have a free weekend for the first time since Oct.! I have some catching up to do. I'd also like to mod my Rola rack mounts tomorrow to drop it down a hair.

Did the expanded sheet mod today

forumrunner_20120316_163811.jpg

I screwed up when cutting one section then scratched the paint while fastening it in but it still turned out ok.

Looks good!

Buda I think more people (like myself) are bigger fans of the 3/4" over the 1/2". I think the 1/2" looks better than the stock grill, but I just like the larger more noticeable diamonds. Unfortunately the 3/4" is more difficult to find.
