I just went with NAPA. I've had the high end stuff and had some issue with them too, so now I just get standard rotors and and high grade pads (not ceramic). It takes me less then an hour to do a brake job, and I don't mind doing it so.....

Your rear rotors warped at 40k?? My fronts went at 20, but like I said, I've never had rears warp until now.

Thanks guys. I don't give her as much attention as I should. I need to start taking her out more. All of my extra cash goes to the WK.

The lady and I are heading up north to the White Mountains in NH. It's about a 3.5 hour drive from where we live. Tomorrow the plan is to drive up Mt Washington. Can't wait! Just put in new brakes and rotors considering I went 60k without ever touching them.

Not sure if it's the rears or the fronts. I'll probably just replace everything..the old "might as well". I'm curious, why not ceramics? I replace the stock pads on my old Intrepid with ceramic and on my T&C. The WK has them and I'll probably go with wagners thermo quiets. Much better breaking and no dust.

I was just pointing out that when I said "high grade" I didn't mean ceramic. I have nothing against them. They def. keep your wheels cleaner. I had EBC slotted rotors and green stuff ceramic pads up front with Raybestas ceramics in the rear, But they simply didn't last as long as I'd hoped.(warped at after about 35k)
I also felt that I needed a little more pedal pressure to stop with the ceramic pads on standard rotors. ( They were great with the slotted/dimpled rotors)
So now I just get the "premium" rotors and pads. Couldn't justify the price on the EBC stuff. Since the labor is free I just change them as needed.
BTW, the ceramics in the rear still had plenty of meat after 50k but I changed them because the rotors warped.

And as per the warping. If the front is warped you'll feel it in the steering wheel when breaking hard at high speeds. If it's the rear it will have more of a pulsing feel to it. You'll only feel it in the pedal, not the wheel.

Lol, so tempted to put my addicts on it but I just purchased the tiregate last week and have it on another card for the flying miles. Now I can't decide if I need the tire carrier more than the wheels since I can stick the spare in storage and use AAA for any problems.... any advice?

1) Addicts and dump the spare
or
2) Keep the Tiregate and keep the spare for my long drives

I can't do both since I am getting married in September and having a new mortgage on her rings and her new stud I bought her last week took me to the poor house... sort of.
