I have the magnaflow xl 3 chamber round on mine. 18" plenty loud even with the factory resonator on it.

I just got off of the phone with Kolak and Magnaflow.... Magnaflow stated that although the muffler is one of their quietest and largest they have never heard of a "whooshing" sound of air coming out of an exhaust. Kolak has sold hundreds of these same mufflers for the 4.7 and had personally driven many with the same exact setup I have without ever hearing the whooshing or air rushing sound. He seems to think that there is some type of restriction in the exhaust whether it's some slag from one of the welds or something that is causing this sound. There are plenty of you tube videos with the same muffler. It is an oval 11x5x22 magnaflow. I think I may take it back to the exhaust shop and have them check into it to see if there are any restrictions causing the sound. I'll keep everyone updated.

Have them cut the resonated tip off. Start it up and see how that sounds. That isnot a huge quiet muffler by any means.

Ok boys, I got so frustrated with this damn thing I got home today and pulled out the sawzall! I cut the ridiculous resonated tip off and went for an angry drive........ Just perfect! Not too quiet and not too loud. Nice deep rumble at low RPM's and good and loud at higher RPM's. No drone sound at any RPM so far. I emailed Kolak and asked him to send me a non-resonated tip. He is off right now but I'm sure I will hear from him tomorrow. So for anyone that ever runs into this, start with the tip! I'm not sure the tip was what it was supposed to be.... meaning it may have been defective. I have an earlier model WK and the big droning issues supposedly didn't start until later years.

Glad you figured it out. Ive cut 6 inches at a time off the tailpipe on a dodge dakota before to "tune" the drone. You might just get your money back for the tip and have a shop run straight pipe out to the stock location.
