Warranty Question

I'm not sure if anyone would know this question, but if I put a 2 inch lift and bigger tires on my Jeep will it void my warranty that I still have on it?

it's a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, if that helps any..

it DEPENDS...... THE LAW states if the dealer can prove that an aftermarket part caused another part to fail....then they dont have to cover it.

EX: you control arm bushes wear out the dealer MAY try to blame the lift. but lets say its a headlight they cant say the lift caused that.

i would prolly say that any driveline related part MAY not be covered due to the lift.

EACH DEALER will be different i n how they deal with this BUT the law is as i said above.

here read this: http://autos.aol.com/article/warrant...rmarket-parts/

another question for you, because you have a hemi .. is it safe to use a performance chip with a hemi..does that have any effect on that type of motor. All I'm looking to do is save gas milage but i guess i should of thought about that before i choose the hemi, but i had to have it. I'm just trying to see if there's anything out there that would save me a few mpg's.

there was a thread about a jk owner being put on the "warranty null and void" list due to a lift and tires. I will try and find that thread, a very interesting read as he fought to get his warranty re-instated.

here is the thread I was referring to
http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/i...ssues-1216516/

this thread in turn points you to a JK forum where an owner had an issue with a dealer after a lift and tires were installed. The JK forum is a long read, but worth it if you really want to hear a person's experience. Worth noting that other manufacturers take the same position as Chrysler when it comes to mods and warranty.

I would say you should be prepared to lose any warranty claims against suspension components (tie rods, ball joints) and maybe even drive shafts and transfer cases after installing a lift and larger than stock wheels/tires.
