Wanted to say hello, and introduce my new ride/build Blue22

Greetings,
I am a huge fan of automotive forums. I have learned that there is no single more valuable resource than the people whom love their vehicles.

I just bought a new to me 2006 Grand Cherokee with 4.7L, QDII, track lock. All stock, but soon to be built up:

Will be doing the OME lift, spidertrax, and 265/70/17 Hankook Dynapro's to start off during the first week. Rola rack, exhaust, and "under" armor before trips to the Colorado high country this summer.

and for giggles, my old rig...

It was a decent rig but what a rust bucket!!!

Thanks, I may be incorrect on the QD11 factor. I'm not able to pick up Blue22 until Friday (ish), so I can dig in further then. I thought the OD11 had 4H and 4L as well as traction control? I'll do the VIN research to find out what I have.

The old T4R was a really nice rig, but this is sooo much cleaner. The PO verges on "anal" with respect to work done on it. He had an entire organized folder of maintenance, and repair/replace records. It was garaged every night and the cleanest on the market. Its one of the first used vehicles I have felt this confident about. Looking forward to building it.

My old 1996 GC was an absolute brute on the trails, with only a 2" lift and 265's

Good looking Jeep and welcome to the little corner of JF that is the WK/XK section!!! Those 4.7L QD2 Jeeps are a rare find, I have only seen a hand full roll through here.

I'll have my hands on it tomorrow night. Just ordered my Spidertrax spacers, and RC lift. Will be getting the tires put on this Saturday; going with 265/70/17's but now the real question... I loved the Hankooks on the 4runner, but I have read good things about the Cooper Disc AT/3's. I don't want a super aggressive tire as I don't plan on over the top or hard core wheeling. About the same price sooo.... decisions decisions...

Most of my off road driving will be goofing around on the mild to medium trails around the Colorado mtns. I had my fair share of wheeling and tearing up rigs in the past, so not too interested in testing metal thickness this time around.

Picked up my weekend project. Will be getting the 265's on Sat after I get the lift and spacers on. Decided to get the Hankooks. Should be able to show progress pics on Sat evening.
