Uconnect Phone Compatibility List

I am looking to get a new cell phone that is compatable with my uconnect system. I am currently using RER system with the mygig 1.220 software. I called the uconnect customer service number and a representative told me that the most recent tested phones are on the jeep website. (Alot of old phones and not a lot of new ones). When I go to the Chrysler website and check-out the Unconnect for the PT Cruiser with nav, it has more tested and newer cell phones that are compatible. Does anyone know which list is correct? Is there an updated list for the 08 Grand Cherokee RER Uconnect? I would hate to buy a new cell phone and it does not connect properly to the unconnect.

Thanks.

My wife and I have new sprint instincts and the work great. All verizon smart phones work as well.

I think most bluetooth phones will work. I have a bran new US Cellular LG phone and a Blackberry 8830 and use it with no problems on my 2005. I wish my Jeep worked as well...

I am using Verizon Wireless. I have not picked out a phone yet. I was thinking about the LG Versa or the LG evV Touch.

Verizon Wireless has a webpage that shows phones and compatibility with Bluetooth systems.

Try here: http://support.vzw.com/how_to_use/bl...h_car_kit.html

I have a Verizon XV6800 and it works OK. Since I installed the latest software in MyGIG, it has a nasty habit of locking the unit up upon ending a call. Restarting the phone remedies the problem.

U connect list is a bigger list then the list for the RER so I would stick with the RER list to be safe. I have a file I can e-mail you with the list if you wish for RER but is dated august last year.

Both, my Nokia 6230 and 6555 work well with the U-connect BT system (GC '05 model, i.e. it is not the rearview mirror fancy thingy).

I would guess that the phone model is the clue and not the service provider.

BTW, is it me or the mic is really garbage? any replacement possible? specs?

Thanks guys. You helped me out quite a bit. I am thinking about a BlackBerry Curve or the LG enV Touch. I will look at the verizon list to make my final decision. I know the Jeep- Uconnect list takes a while to update.

Well, for now, it is *two of us* already, BlueSteelJP and me, because I have to yell at the mike (with windows up, of course) so that people can hear me...

I'd rather assume that the mic is either defective or absolute garbage

A 300 € Parrot w/installation included (what it costs here) puts the U-connect system into shame in sooo many ways that I feel scammed.

Purchased Verizon LG-VX9200 - is not compatible, drops calls. Wanting to purchase Verizon LGenV Touch, does anyone know if it is compatible?
