I have a 2008 Grand Chreokee WK that whistles from the transmission during these actions:
Shifting from Park to Drive (TOOT TOOT)
Shifting from Park to Reverse (TOOT TOOT)
De-accelerating to a stop (TOOT)
Accelerating from a stop (TOOOOOOOOOOT)
Killing the engine (TOOT)
Like most transmission problems they only appear when hot. And the whistle is very audible, like it is coming from a vent or hole in the transmission. I had the problem diagnosed at the dealer whom concluded that is was the valve body. $1000 and a few weeks later the whistle came back. There are no signs of leakage but who knows because my Jeep isn't equipped with a transmission fluid dip stick. The fluid was obviously flushed when the valve body was replaced, so no problem there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
