Tranmission over temp. Decides when to start.

Have seen this thread pop up a few times before but I seem to be having slightly different issues. Just wondering if anyone has a concrete solution. Recently bought a 07' grand Cherokee with 65k. About two weeks ago it decided that it didn't want to turn over. Same issue as everyone else, lights, radio, fan etc. all work. Trans over temp flashes when turning key. I let it sit for two days, tried to start a couple times during those two days to no avail. On the third day it magically decided to start. Took it to the dealership, they can't reproduce the problem. Drove it around all day yesterday and ran like a champ. Tried to go out one more time last night, wouldn't start. Engine was still pretty warm. Tried to start this morning, no luck. If I go out this evening it will probably start...

I've read it can be anything from a corroded wire to the PCM to the anti-theft system. Is there an actual transmission temp sensor that can be replaced? Logic would lead me to believe that's the faulty component but I suppose that makes too much sense. Has anyone managed to find a permanent solution to this problem? I don't feel like paying to have my starter changed three times for no reason.
