Toyo Open Country AT2...PICS

Haven't posted in a while and figured I would fill you in on my thoughts of my new tires. I had the Duratracs for about 8,000 miles and hated them. So I went out and got the new Open Country AT 2. They are silent compared to the Duratracs. Also they actually balance. My tires don't shake my steering wheel all over the place. There are 3 different types of aggressiveness on the treads. They have the P metric style which has closer voids, the LT style which is what I have. Pretty aggressive but in the middle of the 3. Then the extreme which is only in a select few sizes. I wanted that but they didn't have my size of LT265/70/17. Anyways here are some pics

Theyre a little on the heavy side... you can see the weights on Toyos website. They roll really well so the fuel economy is pretty good with em.

What sizes do the most aggresive ones come in? Have been looking at these tires also but had written them off as not being aggresive enough because of seeing only p-metric sizes i guess. Yours look much better, just alittle more needed out of the side lugs and they would be perfect!

I was wondering the same thing since no one seemed to know when i was looking into buying mine, so i called Toyo. They said the p-metric tires have the least aggressive tread, and 13/32 depth, the LTs are more moderate and have 16/32 depth and the AT2 Xtreme tires almost look like MTs, and have 17/32 depth.... thats the only way to tell how aggressive each size is.

Thats a link to a post on an F150 forum of a guy showing off his Xtremes, albeit on 20s.

After looking at those in the link, Toyo should only offer the p-metric and the AT2 X's as the side lugs on those are perfect for a all-terrain tire! thnne pics in the link and yours have definitely swayed me back to the Toyo's as I don't need a really aggressive tire. Now just need to find a set of Rubi wheels for cheap!

Nice mane, got couple questions. Duratracs, why did you not like them? Did they not perform well off roading or was it just on the road where the handling was affected? Also the ome lift you have the 2 inch lift right?

I never really went off road with the Duratracs. I did however have them balanced a few times in a few thousand miles and just couldn't get them balanced right. The steering wheel would shake(not DW shake) at anything over 50 mph. Switched to the Toyo's and it is so much better. I don't really off road as much as I used to but I do however make a few trips to WV a year and normally hit snow at least once a year the Duratracs performed fine in the white stuff when I went to Snowshoe in Feb. Hopefully the Toyo's will be just as good. I just wish the sidewall was a little more aggressive.
