Tool compatability?

Does anyone know if the Spare Tire Driver Nut is the same size between the 2002 and 2007 GCs?

I'm looking at some replacement tools for sale and thinking that it should be the same size, but I'm not 100% certain.

isnt it the tire iron that lowers it? that would be a 3/4 or 19MM socket(same size)

The Spare Tire Driver Nut is a square peg used in raising/lowering the spare tire which is stored under the trunk on the exterior underside of the vehicle, not a standard nut used as a Lug Nut.

The 02 does not have the tire underneath as the WK does, it's in a well in the cargo floor.

Interesting! What about the '04? Anyone know if that's the same as the '07?

Nope '04 has the spare in the well like '02.
Grand Cherokee geanology:
ZJ series 93-98 tire is bolted upright to the drivers inside quarter panel
WJ series 99-04 it's in the well
WK series 05-10 under the vehicle with the crank it up winch.

Oh ok, never had to use it so, wasn't sure... Anyways, you can use an open ended wrench to turn it I suppose.

Socket and ratchet wrench can also be used if you have the right size
