For those who change their diff fluid

I have an 05 Wk QT11. Do I need to pull off the entire cover on the front or rear diff to drain all of the fluid?

if you purchase a pump, you don't have to remove the covers at all, just pump out the old and refill.

i always remove the rear covers and inspect when I change the fluid. just habit and actually saved me as I noticed that my limited slip on my old TJ had failed.
