Sylvania Silverstar ZXE

I took some pics of my ZXE's last night, thought I'd share in case anyone was interested. They make a great alternative for those of us who want the look of HIDs without spending big bucks on new headlights or messing with a cheap HID retrofit. These run about $60 local, but can be had for around $35-$40 on eBay.
Sorry for the lousy cell phone pics.

OEM...

ZXE'S...

Side by side...

Head on with ZXE...

These look great man I think I'm going to follow your route and not spend the big bucks on HID's.

Yea I heard that too about their short lifespan. Hopefully that's no longer the case, guess we'll soon find out.

Look good, but I'd rather have HIDs

Also, you're aim is wayyyy off, or was.. in the first picture. Or the passenger side bulb was in upside down.

Looks nice a good clean light. Not sure what is going on with your driver side beam though, it is everywhere! I have had SilverStar Ultras in my car for about 5 years now without any issue, so either I am lucky or some guys got some crappy sets and it has spread like wildfire?!

They tell you that these bulbs have a shorter life span right on the back of the package.

Yea I had a set of those $30 Xentecs from ebay on my last car, 2011 Kia Optima with halogen projectors. They looked awful and flickered like crazy, even with a relay. I had to send one of the ballasts in for a replacement within the first month as well. Maybe I just got a bad batch, I don't know. It was enough to make me not want to do it again though.

I have always put Silverstar Ultras in every car that I buy. I have currently had my set in for about two years and they're working fine. I really like the look of the new bulbs. I wonder what they look like from behind the wheel?

I love Silverstars for the price but they didn't last long on my XJ. Maybe 1.5 years...

Is it a noticeable difference between the silverstar and the stock as far as distance goes? I had the regular silverstars in my Liberty and liked them. One thing I notice on my XK is that the fogs seem almost just as bright as the headlights.
