Stock Lift Tire Sizes

I know the FAQ says 255/65/17 are the largest tire you can run STOCK.

But according to Discount Tire Direct you can run up to a 275/60/17 which by my investigation is a 30 inch tall 11 inch wide tire.

Anyone have any experience with these?

They also claim a 255/60/17 as the size just under that which is a 29 inch tall by 10 inch wide i believe.

Id like some input on what anyone has done as far as stock as unfortunately i just cant swing the money for a lift and spacers etc etc but I need new tires in a bad way at a decent price.

the FAQ is correct.

the BOLT will not allow the 275.

Just for anyone who is interested in sticking with stock fitting tires. I just picked up a set of Yokohama Geolanders for $480 shipped off DiscountTireDirect.com they have a special $40 off coupon right now and I did get the 255/65/17s.

Go to TireRack.com... check the specs on the Bridgstone AT Revo in 265/65/17. That tire just barely fits without rubbing on the road. Get a tire that size or smaller and you wont rub unless you get into serious wheeling. If you expect to do much driving off road you'll need slightly smaller tires as these might rub.
