Starting out

I just bought a 05 grand Cherokee last week and want to put a muffler on it and lift it up a little bit. I have the 5.7 hemi. I'm looking at magnaflow and flowmaster mufflers. Which one is better in yalls opinion. I also want to go with a 2 or 3 inch lift. What brand should i go with?

Welcome to the addiction. I would suggest the Old Man Emu (OME) HD lift kit. Thats the best bang for your buck. I have no suggestions for you about the exhaust.

Welcome to the Forum!

+1 Vote on the OME HD lift.

I went with a Magnaflow, but I also have a 3.7. I have hear the the Flowmaster 44 series sounds pretty nice on the 5.7. He had a big discussion on mufflers a while back and some of the guys posted sound clips, here the link: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f67/3...ffler-1424544/

GOOD LUCK

Since when is the OME the "best bang for the buck"??? There's a reason why strut spacers are referred to as a "budget boost" OME is one of the more expensive lifts. But you also get a better ride quality along with it which is what justifies the cost

I can't comment on the ride quality or off road capabilities of bb's, however I can comment on the ome HD, its fantastic and well worth the money if you're planning on doing regular off roading I'd suggest doing that over a budget boost, but if its just looks you're after just go the bb. On a price scale bb will set you back approx $250 ome HD approx $800 and super lift approx $2000. Having the longer travel of the ome shocks/struts will also allow you to lift your jeep higher ( with a few extra components) if you ever choose to do so.

Hey guys just had a question pertaining to the OMD HD coils. I have the Daystar lift with bilsteins all around. If I put the ome coils in will I get 3" of lift or are the ome shocks/struts longer than the bilsteins?

The OME HD will get you approx. 3" up front and 2" in the rear. The OME shocks/struts are the same size as stock which means you can use any shock/strut you want. If you already got bilstein's, then keep them!

Does this mean the back will sag? I thought it was 3" all around but I may be mistaken. Knowing the bilsteins will work is very good news thanks!

id go BB.. RC or RRO, i would personally go RRO. how many miles on her? some shocks, swaybar and a BB would be a better "bang for your buck". because with the money you spend on the OME kit, you can get shocks/swaybars and a BB.

I too have an 05 with the 5.7 Hemi. I couldn't be happier with my OME HD+MLLs on 33s setup and magnaflow exhaust

That's mine next to my friend's. Also an 05 with a 5.7 on 30s.

I have no doubt at all that the OME is the better option, but if you're like me and don't offroad near as much as you'd like to.... get an RC lift and spend the extra $600 you saved on some F150 MLLs and tires.

Hi guys - after being pummeled here in NJ by this latest storm I have decided to return the 2 inch daystar kit to kolak and get the OME HD springs. I have bilstein struts and shocks waiting to go in so now I will wait for the springs. After all the flooding here I need bigger!

Here is a question to all of you who have the OME kit - how or what did you use to compress the spings to change them out for the new ones?
