Spacer lift has caused SEVERE noise in the rear

I have the RRO spacer lift and am having some really annoying noise issues. I replaced the shocks with some better ones (the ones sent sucked), but that hasn't stopped the rattle noise. I can sit in my WK and shake it back and forth and it rattles like crazy. I don't know what to do. I can't find exactly where it's coming from. It's in the back, but not sure exactly where. Anybody have a suggestion, or similar experience?

I'm going crazy...

What do you mean by "shake it back and forth"?

Check all the bolts on the suspension to be sure they're tight and haven't loosened up.

Poly spacers may also transmit noise/vibes.

Poly Spacers are less than ideal on a unibody but aren't going to cause rattling.

If you can re-create the problem by rocking the WK in your driveway, then get someone to rock it while you get underneath and search for the source.

Check to see if the driver side control arm is hitting the gas tank skid. That's probably no it, but worth a shot.

I would check your sway bar links.

It does it on both sides... and I've had it back to the shop that installed it to have everything checked again. Nothing seems to be loose.

If it's the sway bar links, would it be caused by the lift? What should I replace them with?

I was thinking more along the lines of loose bolts. If it makes noise when you rock it side to side that would be my first thought. Lay on the ground underneath and have a friend rock it back and forth. Follow the sound and touch different things as its making th noise. Whatever it is will vibrate.

On my CRD the panhard bar was touching the axle bracket. It was barely visible. I had to cut off material on the bracket to clear the bar.The engine protective plate was also loose and making a rattling noise.

I have had a steel spacer lift for a few weeks. I have had an annoying rattle in the back. I put washers b/t by shock ends and there is a rattle that only seems to happen when the jeep shakes laterally.

I cant replicate the rattle when its parked, it has a sound similar to a hitch rattling in a receiver (which I dont have)

Thoughts?

check your shocks again... check your swaybar bushings and links as well.

I didn't think of it before, but our WK developed a rattle after I installed new rear shocks. I've never spent time determining why though (wife drives the WK and doesn't complain about it). It was a simple job to unbolt the old ones and install the new ones.

Last set of shocks I installed rattled a lot. I forgot to tighten one of the shock mounts all the way down.

Sometimes you will need washers and grease to keep them from rattling, had that issue with a friends truck.
