Hey everyone. I want to do a simple 2" spacer lift on my 2010. What will I need to get/replace when I do it? 100k miles and everything in the suspension is still original.
Skip the spacer and do a OME MD; this will replace the springs and shocks and will ride nicer. You will also want to change your front UCA to at minimum new Moog Problem Solvers, but at best JBA.
Check you LCA bushings and see if those need to be replaced as well.
Upper control arms are a good idea but technically (without taking tire size into consideration) you don't have to do anything else. Stock shocks and struts will work with a 2" lift.
If you wanna do it right and plan on keeping the Jeep for awhile, it would be smart to replace quite a few things at once = only need an alignment once.
Springs
Struts/shocks
Upper control arms
Lower ball joints
Tie rod ends
It would make sense to go with the OME kit over a spacer lift since it comes with new springs and struts/shocks. With 100k on your factory suspension the springs are sagging and the struts are on their way out. You'll need an alignment after lifting, and since you have it all apart it won't take much more work to do ball joints and tie rod ends.
^^
I just put on an OME lift and at the same time another guy put on a spacer lift with MLL in the rear and changed his front struts. I had mine done in 8hrs with 2 people for 6hrs of it and the other guy only finished the front in 15hrs with 3 people working on it for 12hrs. He had to finish the rear the following day.
