skid plates
I have always had wranglers....however, we have a nice 2006 commander for a while now. It has the off road package...and I notice the skids are plastic. I have never seen that before. Is it usual for GC?

I've never heard of plastic skid plates on a Commander, mine are steel on my 06 Grand Cherokee. That sounds like an s-10 thing, lol.

The "standard" skid plates are actually brush guards. You can replace all of the skids with the metal ones without too much effort. The fuel tank one does require you to drop the fuel tank but this is still a driveway task..

Note that the 4xguard skid plates add to the "factory" skids. For full protection you would need the 3 factory skids and the 3 4xguard skids.
