Shifter Knob

I just ordered a Commander Shifter Knob for my WK, but I can't figure out how to take my old one off?

How does it come off?

Hold the top of the knob with one hand, then grab the lower part (there is a gap between the two parts) and turn it two clicks. Then the knob will pull off easily.

Turn it to the right or left?

Is the gap before or after the chrom piece at the bottm?

The lower part turns counter-clockwise (as you look down at it).

The gap is between the main knob and the lower part. It doesn't really come apart- the lower piece turns.

How hard do you have to twist? I've tried to take mine off and I can't get it to budge. Is there a trick or special tool?

Thanks!
