Scratches .

So I just purchased my jeep a month or so ago. I had taken jeeps mudding before but this time I decided to go with a buddy to go trailing in his wrangler . Long story short I got so many scratches on the side of my jeep the trail was kinda over grown and after we commited to the trail there was no turning back. The guy with the wrangler said they should buff out but in worried I ruined my jeep how much does this normally cost and anyone have something similar happen to them?

How deep are the scratches? Post some pictures and we can help you out. If they're not too deep you're only looking at $10-15 for buffing it out. I know how you feel, putting those first scratches on your new Jeep sucks.

In all seriousness - any body that's taken their WK (or Jeep period) on the trails has experienced this. If you take a good wax and buffing wheel/ball yadayada - the pinstripes should buff out. The deeper ones maybe not but for the most part even just a good washing makes them less noticeable.

I am working on removing scratches from my Jeep. I am using Turtle wax scratch remover for light ones. For heavier I am going to try wet sand using 3000 grit sandpaper and if it don't work I will try to use 2000 grit and wet sand, then buff and polish. That should take care of most.

Thanks for all the help guys but I might have solved the problem with another problem ugh just not lucky these days. Wrecked the jeep into a big pile of woods lucky I didn't hit a tree. No cracks seen in bumper just wear there was some scratches they are now small compared to these scratches that it left. Called insurance and they said they would fix it so I might pay deductible and do that

If the only damage is scratches, I can almost guarantee that your deductible will cost more than having a detail/body shop clean the truck up. A GOOD detail shop can usually eliminate deep & light scratches for maybe $200-300 the whole truck (Local shop prices might be different). Just call around and get estimates before you go dumping $500+ into an insurance claim, plus your premium will jack up high over small stuff.

Well talked to insurance and had a body shop look it over and said they could clean up the scratches for 300 bucks but can't gaurentee it will look good. Also my deductible is 500 bucks and they will reprint the whole jeep still trying to decide what in going to do :/

I'd still check with a detail shop also. But if it was only $200 more i'd get the whole thing re-sprayed. Here's the problem, how much will your insurance premium go up? High enough for it to cost a lot more in the long run?
