Sorry _ I was just thinking out loud. I do know that when a stering wheel is replaced with a grant steering wheel here you get less money in claims because you disabled something that can protect you. I just thought the bumper - after or during install you would end up with them not working. I am not a fan of airbags. Insurance has changed up here. If you drink and drive up here you have zero insurance if you get into an accident. So... I should have sent the manuf an email to check to see if the airbags get disabled after it is installed.

You could build this for around $150-$200 worth of metal and some hours of your own time. If you know how to weld it pretty simple to build these kinds of bumpers. But companies like this have to charge a lot because they don't sell a lot. Sometimes they make them and don't sell the original production runs till years later.

It's the only way for them to make a profit.

could have used this bumper today...someone hit me in a parking lot when i was inside and cracked my front bumper. i hate people...and plastic bumpers.

Air bags are triggered via inertia not by pushing a sensor.

Actually with this bumper i believe the airbags would be triggered sooner since the bumper would not be absorbing mush of the impact...
