Rpm at 65 mph

When you are cruising at 65 mph, what's your tachometer reading. I am around 2300 rpm. It seems high to me.
Thanks

My WK has a Superlift and 285/70's (speedo corrected) and turn about 1700 to 1800 RPM at 65.

That's about right. My stock 2008 CRD is at 2,000 RPM at 55 MPH which is the speed limit for the freeways on my daily commute.

I'm looking forward to trying out the 8 speed tranny on the 2014 ecodiesel if they ever start building them for American dealers.

jrv8984 you are reading it right - ~2.3K RPM @ 65 MPH. The stock rear gear ratio in the WK CRD is 3:73 which is great for towing. @ 85 MPH it will be over 3.5K RPM.

Ya mine is around the same as that. Would be nice if it was a bit lower to increase the fuel mileage but they are right the 3:73 ratio is great for towing. Anyone ever hear of anyone swapping to a different rear gear ratio in a WK? Just curious.

There is a thread on it. Once you read it though it may change your mind though. If you have a 4x4 you might as well forget about it but if you have a 2wd then you could possibly do the swap. Only bad part is if you read though his thread over the swap his computer flipped out and threw his Wk into limp mode because his transmission was throwing gear ratio codes. I'll look for the thread and post a link to it for you
