Removing chrome clad covers?

I have an 09 overland with the chrome clad covers and was wondering if anyone had pictures of what it would look like if you removed the chrome covers and cleaned up the wheels underneath them.

Those things are hideous underneath. I guess with a little elbow grease they got some potential, but honestly id rather have the aluminum or alloys anyday over my chrome clads. Mine do not say Jeep in the center. Everyone i see says Jeep. I feel like theyre equivalent to walmart hubcaps. Theyre factory stock its in my build sheet just doesnt say Jeep. time to start saving some $$ i guess. If you do end up doing anything with yours please post pics, Im anxious to see what people make out of them

I just looked thru somebody's build thread last night, he removed his and it looked a little rough but painted them a nice smoked charcoal, looked pretty good IMO

I did this on my Jeep. See my thread below. The big thing is all the adhesive that they use to hold the covers on. You need to remove all the adhesive, but after that and some paint they look pretty good.
