Rear bumper bar or install hitch?

I have a '08 wk. I live in ny city and have dealt with people tapping my bumper while parking for FAR to long. Last week, someone backed into my bumper and put a big dimple and two holes in the bumper cover...he has settled with me for enough to replace the bumper cover in a body shop. While that's all well and good, I think this is the perfect opportunity to combat the problem of people tapping my bumper and effectively scratching my new bumper.

So, I pose a question. Do I install a hitch or do I install a rear bumper bar? Both have advantages and both will help keep my bumper from getting to many scrapes from inconsiderate neighbors.

I did some digging and im confused as to where I can buy a replacement bumper cover..fascia... That already has the mopar oem hitch cutout Or do I need to purchase a replacement bumper cover and cut it myself? If I had to cut it myself, I would obviously practice on the beat up bumper cover.

Now I realize a hitch will allow me to install a bike rack and will keep cars approximately 3"-6" from my car...which makes me happy. But I don't know if it's better to have the hitch installed or get. Bumper bar?

Chim in and if you can, send me link of install guide or video if possible..

Install the hitch, the OEM bumper has score marks to cut it out. Then run drop down hitch, shackle mount , recovery hook or something like that in the hitch to keep people away. This will work wonders.

X2 on the hitch. You can always add an accessory like a step or something like this to keep people off your bumper.
